MUAY THAI

The Muay Thai Program at Boombox is our gym’s exclusive approach to skill development in the sport and Martial Art of Muay Thai. Our curriculum is complete, but never finished. We will continue to evolve our program based on the research and development of our Coaches, our Students, our Fighters, and our Lineage.

The following is the first official test in the BMBX Muay Thai curriculum continuum.
To qualify for the opportunity to test at Boombox, you must either have been given a white Pra Jiad (Arm Band) by Coach Kurt, or been given express permission to test by the Coaching staff. Please do not ask for permission to take the test, but do feel free to ask questions about the evaluation process.

MUAY THAI ARM BAND: THE PRA JIAD

The Muay Thai Arm-Band, called “Pra Jiad” (also spelled “Prajiad”, “Prajead”, “Prachiat”), have long been tied above the biceps of Muay Thai Fighters, and the historical warrior that preceded them. In the modern era, particularly in the West, this cultural tradition acts as a signifier of rank and experience in the art amongst a specific school/gym group. The history and culture of Muay Thai, and the Pra Jiad, will be part of your Muay Thai training and education at BMBX.
